No. Gozo Guitar Lessons teaches complete beginners through to more advanced players, so lessons can begin at the very first chord. You do not need to read music or know anything about the guitar to get in touch.

Yes. Tell me what you are working on and where you feel stuck. My own YouTube lessons cover lead licks in the style of Angus Young and Yngwie Malmsteen, riff breakdowns, a country solo, scale shapes and the fretboard, which gives a fair idea of the ground I can cover.

No. My lessons and books use guitar tablature and chord boxes, which show you where to put your fingers, and I teach the fretboard itself. My video on finding notes on the fretboard shows the approach.

Whichever makes you want to play. I do not believe there is one uniform way to start the guitar: if someone wants to learn, there is usually a reason, and the guitar should suit that reason. I explain this in my video “The Biggest Guitar Myth Everyone Still Believes”, which plays on the home page.

Yes. Mention it in your message. I have reviewed plenty of guitars on my YouTube channel, from budget Harley Bentons to Gibsons, and I can point you in the right direction.

Yes. If you are not in Gozo, or would rather learn from home, I teach online over a video call. Online students get the same lessons as students in Gozo, in their own time zone.

Your guitar, a phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and a steady internet connection. Set the camera so I can see both of your hands on the guitar. Tell me your time zone when you book so we can find a time that suits us both.
